AnyCard is Canada’s first e-gift card marketplace. We provide businesses with a platform that allows their customers to send gift cards online via email, text and Facebook. After successfully expanding into new markets and growing steadily, we are looking to expand our development team.

We are looking to hire PHP Developers, App Developers and UX/UI Front-End Developers. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and high performing individual looking to join an early stage startup. This role will report directly to the CTO and be primarily focused on improving and maintaining our current feature set.

PHP and App Developers

Location: Toronto, Regina or Saskatoon

We are looking for PHP and App Developers in the Toronto, Regina or Saskatoon area. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and high performing individual looking to join an early stage startup. This role will report directly to the CTO and be primarily focused on improving and maintaining our feature set.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborate with management and other developers to plan and implement solutions for our product direction and our expanding feature set.
  • Execute implementation of front-end design work to final production code.
  • Create and improve our current feature set to effectively improve our user interaction and user flow.
  • Create original ideas that provide simplicity and uniqueness to our product.
  • Present and explain key milestone deliverables to the company as a whole.
  • Establish and promote development guidelines, best practices and architecture standards.

Qualifications:
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous back-end development involving PHP or App Development languages (iOS, Android, Windows).
  • Proficient with MySQL and complete understanding of major MySQL commands.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of web technologies such as RESTful API services and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Understanding of software development tools such as GIT source management (e.g. BitBucket) and project management/bug tracking (e.g. Atlassian JIRA).
  • Familiar with major Linux command lines.
  • Familiar with Model-View-Controller (MVC) structures.
  • Ability to solve problems carefully, creatively and effectively.
  • Good sense of platform architecture as a whole with a passion for high-quality coding practices.

UX/UI Front-End Developer

Location: Toronto, Regina or Saskatoon

We are looking for a full time UX/UI Front-End Developer in the Toronto, Regina or Saskatoon area. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and high performing individual looking to join an early stage startup. This role will report directly to the CTO and be primarily focused on improving and maintaining our the front end UX/UI.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborate with management and other developers to plan and implement solutions for our product direction and our user experience.
  • Execute product design stages from concept to final development.
  • Ability to create original ideas that provide simplicity and uniqueness to our product.
  • Create and improve wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively improve our user interaction and product design flow.
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to the company as a whole (peers, colleagues, management, investors/stakeholders).
  • Conduct user research and evaluate the feedback you receive.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.

Qualifications:
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous front-end development and UX/UI experience (code examples, prototypes, diagrams, etc.).
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid developing.
  • Experience in creating and improving wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.
  • Experience in front-end development (HTML/CSS/Javascript) built upon an MVC framework.
  • Excellent visual design skills with a passion for user-system interaction.​
  • Ability to solve problems carefully, creatively and effectively.
  • Up-to-date with the latest UX/UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related degrees.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
  • Added bonus: Experience with PHP/MySQL.

Acquisition Manager

Location: Canada-wide

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and high performing individual looking to join an early stage startup. This role will report directly to the CEO and be primarily focused on generating new business and signing up local merchants and BIA’s. (Business Improvement Areas) The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience doing B2B sales and/or business development in the Small and Medium Business sector.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Market research, cold calling and lead generation.
  • Monthly targets: signup 1 - 2 BIAs with 40 - 50 merchants/BIA.
  • Identify, attend and exhibit at relevant conferences and trade shows.
  • Develop sales presentations, email campaigns and sales scripts.
  • On board merchants and work with them to increase their e-Gift Card Sales.
